MedicalDirector’s AusDI leads the way integrating Natural Medicines™ content in Australia
16 December, 2020
Sydney, Australia – In a first-of-its-kind solution in Australia, Clinical software company MedicalDirector will integrate the globally recognised Natural Medicines database from TRC Healthcare into its medicines information platform, AusDI.
AusDI, MedicalDirector’s extensive collection of referential medicines information and decision support content, is accessed by tens of thousands* of health professionals in clinics, hospitals, pharmacies and government facilities across Australia. Compiled by pharmacists, under the guidance of an editorial advisory committee, the content is updated daily and published monthly, in line with the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS).
“Natural Medicines is the only database that includes the actual label information of nearly all vitamins and supplements sold in the U.S. Clinicians can be confident they’re accessing the most authoritative resource available for dietary supplements, natural medicines, and complementary alternative and integrative therapies,” said Wes Crews, Chief Executive Officer at TRC Healthcare.
The inclusion of Natural Medicines content is set to unlock a new level of interactive, evidence-based data on the effectiveness and safety of integrative medicine products and formulations. AusDI enables quick access to Natural Medicines’ comprehensive information about dietary supplements, complementary medicines and integrative therapies from the convenience of a single-medicines information platform.
By providing the most current and objective data on integrative products and interactions with pharmaceutical or over-the-counter medicines and various medical conditions, the AusDI update seeks to increase clinical awareness, enhance health literacy, and improve patient outcomes.
“This is one of the most in-depth resources of its kind to be delivered in Australia. We’re proud to partner with TRC Healthcare to support medical professionals and their patients to make informed, evidence-based decisions that promote ideal health outcomes,” said CEO of MedicalDirector, Matthew Bardsley
MedicalDirector’s Natural Medicines update demonstrates their ongoing commitment to being a trusted source of accurate medical information across multiple specialities, for Australian health professionals.
