A Location Specific Practice Number (LSPN) is a number allocated by the Medicare to a registered diagnostic imaging and/or radiation oncology premises or base for mobile facilities.

Practices that are affected by this include those who are involved in diagnostic imaging procedures and radiation oncology services. LSPNs must be quoted on invoices and receipts, Medicare Bulk Bill vouchers

The LSPN is allocated when a completed registration form is accepted by the Medicare. When a claim for a diagnostic imaging or radiation oncology service is submitted to the Medicare it must contain an LSPN in order for a benefit to be paid. LSPNs must be included on accounts from 1 July 2003.
