In the Practitioner Setup, the Fee can be entered as follows:
o For a specific dollar amount, enter a valid amount only. This can be preceded with the '$' currency symbol, but is not mandatory.
o For a Schedule fee calculation, 'S' must be the first character. Fees calculated from the Schedule can include additions, subtractions and percentage multipliers.
o $0.00 - Allows you to enter a figure to charge for the item in the Fee field.
o Schedule - Allows you to charge the same fee as the Medicare Benefits Schedule.
o Schedule x 100.00% - Allows you to modify the percentage figure. For example, to set your fee for a particular item to Schedule x 150%, select the Schedule x 100.00% from the Fee drop-down box and modify the percentage amount to 150%. Select the item to modify, when the item is selected the fee is modified. This procedure can be used to modify Benefit and AMA settings by selecting Benefit x 100.00% or AMA x 100.00% from the drop-down box.
o Schedule - $0.00 - Allows you to modify the ($0.00) amount by adding or subtracting a specific amount. For example, to add $20 to a specific item, select the Schedule - $0.00 from the drop-down box in the Fee field. Enter +20.00 and click the item. The fee is modified by the amount entered. This procedure can be used to modify Benefit and AMA settings by selecting Benefit - $0.00 or AMA - $0.00 from the drop-down box.
To subtract a specific amount from an item, enter a minus sign in front of the amount, for example, -10.00.
o Benefit - Allows to charge a percentage of the Schedule amount.
o Benefit x 100.00% - Allows you to modify the percentage figure as described in Schedule x 100.00%.
o Benefit - $0.00 - Allows you to modify the ($0.00) amount by adding or subtracting a specific amount as described in Schedule - $0.00.
o AMA
o AMA x 100.00%
o AMA - $0.00
