Clinical Practice – Integrated Telehealth

As the COVID-19 situation continues to unfold, we have been listening attentively to the evolving needs of our customers and working proactively on solutions to support general practice in Australia. It’s clear that software, hardware, connectivity, and the flexibility to work remotely while maintaining the safety of both practitioners and patients will be integral.
With MedicalDirector enabling over 70 million consultations annually through our software platforms in Australia, we feel it is very important that we do something to help the effort.
Today, we are announcing that we will be providing fully integrated Telehealth capability into all our clinical platforms for free* for at least the next three months.
In Helix, Telehealth consultations are seamlessly integrated into the clinical workflow. Patient history, notes, pathology and prescriptions sit alongside the Teleconsultation — so you have access to information when you need it, without needing to switch between different platforms. In MedicalDirector Clinical, Telehealth capability is accessible via the sidebar. The underlying technology allows for a secure patient-to-practitioner connection, greatly improving the safety of Telehealth.
We recognise that some practices will have additional infrastructure needs at this time. In light of this, we have proudly reached an agreement with Microsoft to offer practices 15% off the Microsoft Surface Pro 7 for Business i5/8GB/256 model and 20% off accessories, including type covers and digital pens.
We have been working collaboratively with the NBN on a solution to support practices when conducting Telehealth consultations. Following the recent announcement by the Minister for Communications Hon. Paul Fletcher MP, the NBN will be providing free upgrades to general practices for the next six months. This offer will available to practices in the coming weeks.
