Healthily partners with MedicalDirector to deliver digital patient education
Patient education specialist Healthily has announced it is collaborating with MedicalDirector, Australia’s leading medical software and information provider, to help health professionals deliver personalised patient education information to improve health literacy and support behaviour change.
Healthily’s GoShare platform has been integrated in MedicalDirector solutions and is now available to health professionals across Australia.
Over the past decade, Healthily has established content partnerships with close to 100 peak bodies – ensuring health professionals have access to the most up to date, and trusted health resources including Australia’s largest library of patient and carer videos, animations, fact sheets and Apps.
GoShare enables practitioners to easily deliver health information and resources to patients in a variety of formats to accommodate patient health literacy levels and preferred learning styles. Used to complement consultations, GoShare content bundles are designed to build patient confidence, knowledge and skills particularly in relation to the self-management of chronic conditions.
Recent studies show that patients are eager to receive more information about their condition and how to better manage it, with 42% wanting a follow-up email with health education information after consultations. More information from their health providers would also discourage patients to look and access wrong information on Google. Currently, more than half (54%) of Australians use Google to look up medical questions and symptoms at least weekly. Patients also report that they value being able to easily share GoShare’s digital health information with their carers, families and friends so they can play a more informed and active supporting role.
