Backup and Disaster Recovery |
All businesses that have ‘mission critical’ data should have a disaster recovery plan in place, including a full backup-and-restore facility for at least the Server, but preferably extended to all computers that perform important functions or store Practice data. While this impacts on initial setup costs, it provides comprehensive coverage in the event of a failure. MedicalDirector recommends that you consult a suitably qualified professional to establish your needs. |
We are aware that some MedicalDirector customers use Terminal Services / Remote Desktop Services, Citrix, or virtualised environments to run our applications on supported Operating Systems. These configurations are not fully tested by MedicalDirector. We are also aware that some MedicalDirector customers use as-yet unsupported Operating Systems and database versions.
Currently, Mac operating systems are not supported for MedicalDirector software. We are aware of some sites using Mac PCs utilising tools such as BootCamp to allow them to run programs as if the computer was running Windows. MedicalDirector cannot assist you with any such set up requirements - you would need to discuss this with your IT support. Furthermore, MedicalDirector does not support the use of the program 'Parallels' as it is known to cause many issues with MedicalDirector software. There is no expected ETA on support for Mac OS.
Before utilising an unsupported environment, consider that a qualified, professional technician may be required to configure and maintain it for you, as MedicalDirector Customer Service is unable to troubleshoot issues relating to hardware, third-party software, Operating Systems, or other technologies deployed in your Practice.
