Downloading and Installing FileZilla

1.      You can download FileZilla here.

2.      Click on “Show additional download option”

 

3.      Then you will be given options to determine which version to download based on your computer system type.

4.      In order to find out your computer system type you need to check your computer settings, select Start -> Type Control Panel into search box -> Click on System -> Read System Type

 

5.      Choose the appropriate Filezilla Client version for your computer to download.

6.      The Client will be downloaded into your computer’s Download Folder.

7.      Double Click on the Filezilla client in the Download Folder to install the FTP client on your computer.

8.      Check you agree to the Licence agreement if you wish to proceed.

 

9.      Click to proceed.

 

10.   On the Choose Components screen check Desktop Icon and click Next Button

 

11.   On the Choose Install Location screen choose the destination folder to store the FTP client and click Next Button

 

12.   On the Choose Start Menu Folder click Install button

 

13.   FileZilla client will install and once completed click Finish Button

o      The FTP client has been installed now.

Downloading Files with FileZilla FTP Client.

Downloading files from MedicalDirector requires you use a Server address supplied to you by MedicalDirector. Ensure you have this address before commencing the following instructions.

1.      Open FileZilla and click on File > Site Manager > New Site and give it a name.

 

2.      Configure the following:

o      Set Protocol to FTP

o      In the Host: field, enter the server address provided by MedicalDirector

o      Set Encryption to Require Explicit FTP over TLS

o      Set Logon Type to Normal

o      Complete Username and Password fields using the details provided to you by MedicalDirector

o      Click Connect button

 

 

3.      If prompted for On the Remember passwords window, select don’t save passwords and click OK Button

 

4.      If the Certificate warning appears, click OK Button

 

5.      The file to be downloaded is located in the bottom-right tile of the FTP client.

 

6.      Via the top-left panel (or as it appears on your local computer), select a location to download the file to.

7.      Select the file and transfer to location by either drag-and-drop,  or right-clicking to download.

8.      Enter the file Password supplied in order to proceed.

 

9.      The file is downloaded to your chosen location. and is available for use.
