Exporting Doctor Tables for Clinical/Pracsoft

This document will guide you through exporting Doctor tables, to send to MedicalDirector Customer Service.

As the tables contain sensitive Doctor Details a data consent form must be signed and returned to MedicalDirector Customer Service before the repair process can proceed.

Repairing Duplicate Doctor Records in Clinical

The following procedure can be performed from any computer with MedicalDirector Clinical or Pracsoft installed, and must have email facilities.

1.      Open the MedicalDirector Install Manager ‘Mechanic’:

o      Select Windows START > RUN, and then browse to C:\Program Files\Health Communication Network\Common\HCNInstMngr\HCNInstMngr.EXE

o      Append ‘ /mechanic’ to the end of the ‘Open:’ line in the ‘Run’ window, as indicated below.

o      Click the OK button.

2.      In the Mechanic window, select (highlight) your Server in the Left Pane, and the database ‘HCN’ in the Right Pane.

3.      Click the Export CSV Tables button.

4.      Holding the CTRL key down on your keyboard, individually select (highlight) the following tables within the Table Export Selection Manager:

o      CM_PRACTITIONER

o      CM_RESOURCE

o      DOCTOR

o      PRAC

5.      Once all four tables are highlighted click the Select button.

6.      On the PS3 Export File window that appears, click the Browse button, and browse to your Windows Desktop.

7.      Name the file ‘PS3XPRT’.

8.      Click the Open button. You will be returned to the PS3 Export File window, where you should now see the full path and path name of the file you are about to export.

9.      Click the Next button. A confirmation screen will be displayed. Click the OK button.

If the export was successful you will be prompted accordingly. If unsuccessful, please contact MedicalDirector Customer Service for further assistance.

10.   Click the OK button. You will be returned to the ‘Mechanic’ window.

11.   Click the Exit button.

12.   If the export was successful a new file called ‘PS3XPRT’ or ‘PS3XPRT.DAT’ will appear on your Desktop. If an email client is setup on the computer, right-click the file and select ‘Send To’ > ‘Mail Recipient’. If an email client is not available the file will need to be emailed via other means.

The file must be emailed to customercare@medicaldirector.com

Once the email and signed Data Consent Form is received, MedicalDirector Customer Service will be in contact at a later date when a specialised SQL script has been created to merge the duplicate Doctors.
